Something is atomic when it forms a complete whole, or is self-contained. In other words, it is said to have the property of atomicity.
- In the context of notes, it means that the note contains all information necessary for a reader to understand the concept presented in the note.[^1]
- In the context of transactions, it means that the transaction exhibits the property of all-or-nothing. Either the entire transaction happens, or it doesn't.
